When Welcome to TeenBackTalk.com (TBT) a place where teens with scoliosis can go and know that they are not alone. When I first was diagnosed with scoliosis, I could barely say the word and had not known anyone with it. There was no place to turn other then the medical, informational websites with brutally scary pictures and X-rays showing only the worst. I want this web site to be a comfort zone, where teens can turn to hear something positive. That you are going to be okay. That scoliosis is just one of the cards that you and I have been dealt in a whole deck of cards and know we can still come out a winner. The truth is that all kinds of people have scoliosis. Famous athletes or the head cheerleader at your high school could have scoliosis, possibly even your favorite celebrity. Scoliosis doesn't have to hold you back from anything that you want to achieve. Most people would not know by looking at me that I have scoliosis, and my bracing has been very effective at improving my spine. It will never be completely perfect, but I've learned very few things in life are perfect.
If you look closely at me, one of my shoulders is a little higher than the other and my back curves in two places, but I wouldn't change who I am becoming and what experiences I have had since being diagnosed. I hope you will spend some time reading the information on the TBT web site and be encouraged to be the best that you can be. Remember, it's only when we are challenged and overcome hurdles that we can become stronger. I look forward to sharing my experiences and hearing from anyone that would like to share their story
